Sai Krishna R is a skilled Software Development Engineer at Altair with a strong background in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He has a keen interest in both Electrical and Mechanical Engineering and has experience working with senior-level engineers. Sai has a post-graduate degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a specialization in Control Systems from the Ohio State University. Sai has experience in working with modeling and simulation of automotive systems. He worked as a Graduate Research Associate with the Crash Avoidance Team at Vehicle Research and Test Center (NHTSA), where he formulated a method to model realistic lateral maneuvers for vehicles in a microscopic traffic simulator environment. He proposed a model called ‘Lateral IDM’ built on the existing Intelligent Driver Model (IDM) in a frenet frame layout. Sai also utilized control barrier function theory to implement safety barrier certificates for lateral maneuvers using lateral and longitudinal accelerations as inputs. He presented his findings and authored a thesis titled ‘Modeling lane change policy for lateral IDM’. In Graduate School, Sai took courses on Powertrain Dynamics and Control and Linear and Non-linear Control theory to extend his interest in modeling and control. Sai has also worked as a Student Research Assistant at the Ohio State University Center for Automotive Research, where he modeled the lateral dynamics of a truck and integrated it with the longitudinal dynamics. He also implemented a 3-degree freedom lateral controller for waypoint tracking and worked on integrating the Simulink Models with CARLA Simulator and ROS Nodes and establish communication-based on J1939 Protocol. Sai is a Research Scientist and Software Engineer with relevant experience of 4.95 years. He has a strong tech stack and is skilled in various programming languages. Sai is a team player and has experience working with various teams. He has also served as a Lab monitor for ECE 2020- Analog Circuits at the Ohio State University, where he helped undergraduate students carry out the lab experiments and clarified their questions.
